Today was a frosty morning, but after a couple of hot mugs of ‘Gardeners Tea’ (like builders tea, but stronger!) and some toast, I took myself off to Wittenham Clumps to do some Midland Style hedgelaying.
This morning and after lunch we cut the pleaches to form a tongue and stub (as in the photo above) and laid the hedge in its final direction.
Tomorrow we’ll be adding the stakes and weaving in the binders.
I’ll take my proper camera tomorrow and get some great photo’s of the finished hedge.
